For a growing business, international payments are not a single problem with a single answer. The practical choice depends on where counterparties are located, which currencies are needed, how funds are collected or paid out, and the compliance requirements of the transaction. For cross-border businesses, the relevant differences between payment platforms often extend beyond transfer speed. Businesses may need to consider whether a provider supports incoming collections, supplier payments, multi-currency accounts, local receiving details, settlement options, and the specific countries or currencies involved.

The five providers below are not directly equivalent. Some offer multi-currency business accounts, while Ripple Payments is enterprise payment infrastructure. This list focuses on platforms that serve businesses making or receiving cross-border payments, rather than consumer-only remittance services. Among the platforms covered, XTransfer is specifically focused on B2B cross-border trade payments, with products designed around international collections, supplier payments, and business account functionality. This is an overview of publicly documented capabilities, not an independent ranking of price, speed, reliability, or regulatory strength. Availability, fees, settlement times, and compliance requirements vary by business, corridor, currency, and jurisdiction.

When comparing these platforms, businesses should first identify the payment flow they need to support. A company primarily receiving overseas customer payments may have different requirements from one that regularly pays international suppliers. The relevant factors can include supported currencies and corridors, how funds are collected and settled, account functionality, transaction limits, fees, onboarding and compliance requirements, and whether the service is intended for a standard business account or enterprise payment infrastructure.

    1. XTransfer

XTransfer positions its platform for businesses, particularly SMEs, involved in cross-border trade. Its company information describes a B2B cross-border trade payment platform built around that use case.

XTransfer’sGlobal Accountpage describes a business account covering more than 20 currencies and more than 200 countries and regions. Its product pages also describe global collections, supplier payments, and transfers between XTransfer accounts. These figures and features are provider-published claims, and actual availability depends on the business, corridor, and applicable product terms.

For compliance, XTransfer states that it performs KYC and KYB reviews during customer onboarding and continuously monitors transaction activity. Separately, the Monetary Authority of Singapore directory lists Xtransfer Pte. Ltd. as a Major Payment Institution with permissions that include account issuance, domestic money transfer, cross-border money transfer, and e-money issuance. A licence or product listing should not be read as a guarantee that every feature is available to every business.

    2. Wise

Wise Business is designed for businesses that need to make payments, receive funds, and manage money internationally. Wise says its business offering can send, hold, or manage money in more than 40 currencies and can support activities such as paying invoices, buying inventory, and handling payroll in more than 160 countries.

Those figures describe the broader Wise Business offering, not a promise that every business can access every currency or receiving detail. Businesses need a Wise Business account for business transfers, and Wise may require verification before enabling certain features. Receiving account details and transfer availability depend on the business’s registered address, the currency, and the relevant product rules.

    3. Payoneer

Payoneer describes its account as a global business account for receiving and sending payments, managing currencies, and obtaining receiving account details in supported markets. Its public pages say that the platform supports payments across more than 190 countries and territories and more than 70 currencies.

The platform-wide figures should not be interpreted as a promise that one business can receive every currency or use every account detail. Payoneer says receiving accounts can be used with clients, customers, marketplaces, and integrated platforms, while the available services, limits, and approvals vary with customer eligibility, business type, jurisdiction, compliance requirements, and payment method.

    4. Revolut Business

Revolut Business offers multi-currency accounts that, according to its product page, can hold, send, and receive money in more than 25 supported currencies. The page also describes local and global account details for businesses managing international finances from one account, subject to eligibility and product availability.

Revolut’s merchant documentation says that payment acceptance can support up to 30 currencies, depending on the payment method. This is a merchant acceptance figure and should not be conflated with the number of currencies available in a multi-currency business account. Availability for business accounts and payment products varies by incorporation, applicant residence, product eligibility, plan limits, and transaction rules.

    5. Ripple Payments

Ripple Payments is enterprise payment infrastructure for businesses, banks, and fintechs rather than a standard self-serve business account. Ripple describes its platform as supporting collection, holding, exchange, and payout flows in fiat and stablecoins, including RLUSD, USDC, and USDT.

Ripple says its payout network supports fiat-to-fiat, stablecoin-to-fiat, and fiat-to-stablecoin flows across more than 60 payout markets. Access involves a commercial service agreement and corridor configuration, and the product, currency, channel, and jurisdictional availability may vary by corridor. Businesses should therefore evaluate Ripple as an infrastructure provider, not as a direct substitute for a standard multi-currency account.

    Key Differences

The five platforms serve different types of cross-border payment needs. XTransfer is primarily focused on B2B cross-border trade payments, including business accounts, global collections, and supplier payments. Wise Business and Payoneer provide broader international business payment and receiving capabilities. Revolut Business combines multi-currency business account functionality with international payment services. Ripple Payments is positioned as enterprise payment infrastructure rather than a standard business account.

    Conclusion

The useful comparison is not simply which provider appears quickest. Businesses should start with the payment flow they need to support, then check the relevant corridor, currency, account type, settlement method, fees, compliance requirements, transaction limits, and current product terms before choosing a provider.

Product features, supported currencies, countries, fees, and settlement times can change. Businesses should confirm the applicable legal entity, licensing status, eligibility requirements, supported corridor, transaction limits, and current terms directly with the provider before opening an account or sending funds.
