In a trailer for the shorts series, it opens with a female voice saying “Kai, if you make it out of this, promise me you’ll walk away.” It then cuts to plenty of action before Kai, in his red ninja outfit, says: “Save the Elementals, I’m coming.”

The female voice then says: We’re not fighting

The female voice then says: “We’re not fighting demons or monsters anymore, they call us warriors. Protectors. Ninja.”

Created to mark the fifteenth anniversary of the “Ninjago” franchise, the shorts offer fans who’ve grown up the show an opportunity to watch the characters in a new way, with many hoping the anime-style shorts will be expanded into a full series. Ninja, watch this space.
